What a beautiful summer day for a quick visit to Allandale Farm in Chestnut Hill. I couldn’t resist the amazing selection tomato’s, delicious peach pie and the gorgeous wild flowers.

Had one decent experience here a couple weeks ago but on my second visit last Sunday, I was hoping to pick up about 5 bags of soil but before I could even park, I was quickly and sternly yelled at to park in the one remaining open spot near the greenhouse. The issue is, it wasn't a spot it was about half a spot next to the woods at about a 30 degree angle. Sure, there were the two wide open "pickup" spots that I could have easily pulled into, had my partner jump out to ask about and/or pay for soil while I sat in the drivers seat ready to move as necessary, but no no how could anyone even consider such an option. The parking attendants were also much more attentive on my first visit, giving drivers a heads up if there were spots available near the greenhouse or not. While I decided that I would much rather pick up the bags from my local Ace hardware and carry them, one by one, 1 mile each back to my place, the same employee was just glaring at me the entire time as I turned around and left. I would have just parked at the far lot and walked in but that employee made it very clear I wasn't welcome at the garden center. Just a really confusing experience honestly

Great place for local produce and many garden needs (seeds, flower planters, topsoil and mulch). They sell pumpkins in the fall (good place to take Halloween season photos) and Christmas trees in December. Warning: it is not an inexpensive place. Also difficult to reach by foot or bike so driving is the best option. Parking is plentiful most of the time and they manage it well when it is peak season.

My personal favorite Farm Stand in all Massachusetts. Rotated close enough to the city....its convenient... and while there you feel like you're in a farm not near the city.... that's awesome...!!! Great selection of anything you want.

Today, my friend took me to this farm, saying that he's been coming here since he was a kid. This place is so cute!! We went just before closing. They had all kinds of plants available. I wish we had more time so we could've asked an employee for help so we could find something suitable for our homes. I absolutely adored the grocery section where they have fruits and vegetables that they grew themselves. I picked up a blueberry lavender drink mix-in, apple butter, fig jam, bee pollen, maple syrup crunchies (not their formal name 😋), clover honey goat cheese, and lavender honey goat cheese. Later the same day, I bought some almond flour cracked pepper crackers and made a charcuterie board with some Costco prosciutto, the goat cheeses, and the fig jam. I also made a pizza with the fig jam as well as pre-made crust, arugula, mozzarella, and the prosciutto. The goat cheese and the fig jam that I bought from The Farm were absolutely phenomal and I'll definitely be craving it after I eat the rest of it over the course of the next few days. I am looking forward to trying the other products I got here and coming back to try more! Lastly, at the checkout line, I noticed I had managed to kick up some dirt at the arboretum onto my new ankle tat. I was a little worried that I need to keep it clean and the lovely woman working one of the registers went to go get me a wet paper towel so I could wipe the dirt off. While shopping, I also ended up carrying so many jars in my arms, I mentioned that it would be great if I had a basket and someone working there overheard and brought me a basket. (Good thing! I'm such a klutz!) A+ customer service. I absolutely loved the 15-20 minutes that I got to spend here before closing!!
