If you are serious about gardening, you will love this place. Very large selection annuals and perennials. Vegetable plants, mint and even Catnip are available. Gets very crowded on Saturdays. Closed Sunday.
I've shopped at Black Creek for 5 years or so, and their selection is extensive and very interesting. I've had particularly good results with toad lilies which they sell which are comparatively hard to find locally. The service is always friendly and prices very reasonable.
I am back again in 2025 to finish my annual spring-summer floral delights. I started last week at an Amish Greenhouse in Kirkwood. Black Creek offers an extensive selection of houseplants, annuals, perennials, herbs, and vegetables. The staff is always so helpful in finding what you want or finding out if what you want is available. For example, when I couldn't find the two Kimberly Queen ferns I wanted, the staff person went to the back to get the last one in stock—the large full size, $22.99, which will look fabulous at my front door. Finally, it is my first time purchasing Citronella plants for my patio, which repel mosquitoes. The Citronella plants Only $6.99
Love this place for my annuals and smaller perennials. HOWEVER, I recently purchased a dried wreath. It's falling apart after maybe 2 weeks. Reason, the dried bundles are bound with old rubber bands which are dry rotting. So I'm using the correct material, green floral wire, to fix the wreath.
I love this nursery bc there's so many varieties of both annuals & perennials, as well as mini succulents & cactus. It's always fun to see what the flower display will be, it was really nice this year. We were a bit disappointed in how dry the plants were this time though, workers were more occupied restocking plant tables than watering. We have an hour & 20 minute drive, got home late night & I don't like watering at night but had to bc they were so dry. A few ended up dying but the rest are doing well. Disappointed they took away the flat price & it's just individual pricing now-- this year my mom & I spent the most we've ever spent, close to $575 combined & we won't do that again. We'll come back again for some items but we'll definitely be getting flats at our other nursery favorites.
