Dolins Garden Center - St. Petersburg FL

Went there with my family a few days ago. They have a small, but good selection of rather unusual plants, which was great. My wife bought a really pretty Agave plant that was much cheaper than Lowes snd Tractor Seat Plant, which looks adorable. You won't regret a visit!

I hardly ever leave reviews, but I had such an incredible experience that I needed to share, and to encourage everyone in St. Petersburg to come to Dolin’s for their gardening needs. I’m new to plant life and am still learning. I bought an arrangement a while back with three separate plans inside, all with different needs. Over time, they started to show signs of dying, and I had no clue how save them. So I brought them to Dolin’s. I’ve included a photo of the original arrangement. I spoke with Andre, who immediately said they’d take care of repotting all three plants. He made me feel like I was in good hands immediately. And I 100% was. I could not be more impressed or happier with how these three plants now stand on their own. Shout out to Brian who handled this for me. All three of the new potted plants are pictured. Dolin’s provided me the best customer service I’ve experienced in ages. Plus, they delivered. I’m obsessed with my new plants. So good… I just had to share.

I recently visited Dolins Garden Center and had a great experience. The selection of plants, flowers, and garden supplies was impressive, and everything looked healthy and well cared for. It’s clear the staff takes pride in maintaining the nursery. The employees were friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to answer questions about plant care and landscaping ideas. The atmosphere was peaceful and enjoyable to walk through, with a wide variety of plants for both beginners and experienced gardeners. Overall, Dolins Garden Center is a wonderful local place for gardening needs, with quality plants and excellent customer service. I’ll definitely be back again.

I loved coming here but I will not return. They advertise that they have been in business for 45 years and I assumed I could lean on them for knowledge about plants- with that amount of time in the business. I purchased tropical milkweed from them in the month of January because they advertised it as a host plant for monarch. The caterpillars are all sick. The monarchs come out of chrysalis too weak to take flight. I have researched and found out these tropical milkweed are bad for them and they are supposed to be cut back from October-March in Florida. They are a category 2 invasive species for Florida. I am highly upset a local nursery would advertise this in the month of January. I have had to keep disposing of dead caterpillars and monarchs. I will attach an image of the sign they promoted in January. I cannot believe a local shop would do this. I expect from Lowe’s or Home Depot- Do you understand monarchs are in decline? This plant is spreading a parasite called OE.

Dolins is one of my favorite nurseries to visit! I’ve only been twice and each time I spend too much (totally their fault because they keep such an amazing variety 🤪) and have such a great time browsing around. They have a great selection of fun and unique plants, all at a great price. Especially for indoor/ indirect light foliage and plants. One of my favorite things about here is their large selection of pots! Some nurseries I’ve been too don’t really stock many options, but dolins has a great array of different fun colors and patterns. Each time I come in the options are different so it makes each experience fun and unexpected. I can’t recommend this place enough. I’ll for sure be back. It’s my go-to store for anything garden related.
