I have been here a couple of times. Both times I had to hunt down an employee to ask questions. Today the person I asked didn't seem interested in talking to me. Their trees are pretty bad. Many are obviously leftover from last year and their containers are full of weeds and they have broken branches that haven't been tended to. After the storm earlier this week there are still trees in their containers that were blown over. No one has bothered to stand them back up. Walking the property, there is a general appearance of neglect. Weeds grow all over the property. This is a prime location and could be a great nursery but the impression I get is that they just don't care.

I cannot believe I hadn't found them sooner! I was looking for an indoor plant for my bedroom. I had a few ideas but hadn't settled on what I wanted. They were so helpful and showed me multiple options that would work with the space, sunlight, and aesthetic that I wanted. They had such a great selection. The hardest part was picking just one plant. Their selection was way better than the big box stores and the employee actually knew what she was talking about. I'm already looking for more places to put plants just so I can go shop again. Definitely give them a look!

To me Hanna’s WAS the ultimate plant nursery. Not anymore! My dad and I drove over an hour to purchase 3 “Sweet” drift roses. I had already purchased 4 “Double Pink” knockout roses from Lowe’s. From the moment we got out of our truck, I started to think we had wasted our time. It was right before noon on a Friday and there were maybe 6 other customers. I went up to one of their many employees to ask for assistance only to be told “grab a buggy” as she pointed to the general direction of the drift roses. While walking into the actual garden center (where you pay) I did find these beautiful black velvet looking Petunias, so I grabbed 2. Since we still had no cart and had no idea where we were supposed to go get the roses, we tried employee #2. This time, I was just simply ignored. Inside the garden center, I asked employee # 3 & 4 if we could set our petunias down so we could get our roses. They reluctantly said yes, while looking very bothered by my questions. Finally, without a cart and on our own, we found the drifts. They looked horrible. I literally had to yell at employee #5 & 6 to even get them to turn around and look at me as they we’re trying to quickly pass us. I asked them if they were just brought out, or had been fertilized or treated. She responded with, “they’re not diseased”. That was it. That was all I got. So I finally located a cart (they were all behind and in an area back off from the garden center) and made the trek back to my dad. I struggled trying to find 3 that didn’t look too bad. I really regret this purchase as I’ve had to throw everything I have ever learned about rose care at them to make them look good. They were all infected with powdery mildew. Thankfully I’ve controlled it enough because it’s not spread to my other Lowe’s purchased roses (which are preforming great). The only reason I gave this place 2 stars was because they had great prices on stone. We are working on a flagstone pathway. They had stone for .25/lb. we had to wait for over an hour to even get someone to help us, but we were able to get it loaded and got out of there. For the 2.5 hours we were there, 2 hours were spent standing around around waiting for someone to help or give us directions and the 30 minutes was getting 2 petunias, 3 drift roses, weighing and loading 6 large stones, and paying for our purchase. See after waiting for 45 minutes to get help, dad and I decided to separate. We thought maybe someone would be willing to help us if we looked all alone. I’m guessing they employ at least over 15+ employees. My advice would be to get rid of half of them and only employ some that actually want to help instead of just standing around talking to each other while one waters plants. I will never go back. There are plenty more helpful plant nurseries that actually care for their customer’s interests.

Great experience, not just outdoor plants but also house plants. Many rare plants that a lot of nurseries don’t have but a lot of people want. Just a few that caught my eyes. Prices are reasonably priced. Definitely will come here whenever I’m in bham. They have a good bit of exotic plants.

Very knowledgeable and incredibly helpful people! John helped us figure out a layout and what plants to replace our dead azaleas. He gave us many tips on how to care for them in all seasons. I highly recommend Hanna’s for your gardening needs!
