Nice family apple orchard (and a few pears). The prices are fair, less than supermarket in most cases, and the apples themselves were wonderful. When we went there were 5-6 varieties ready for picking and about the same number that weren't quite ready yet. The apple varieties are nice; they have enough different ones to make it exciting. They also make cold pressed cider but it goes fast. They sell it as an gallon, half gallon, and a pint. There is also an indoor market area (where you go to check in if you want to pick apples also) where they sell prepicked apples in bags, ice cream, tshirts, and other souvenirs. There are also kids activities that require armband/ticket admission, also available at the market building. The orchard was very nice to walk around. All the rows were labeled with the apple variety and they let you know which are ready to pick and which aren't. The employees seemed very excited to be there and help out. Once we checked in and they told us which were ready to pick, they left us alone. We were able to take a nice walk around the orchard, taste all the apples that were ready, and pick enough to take home.
We've been to the U-pick apple orchard twice now and really enjoyed it both times. It's a beautiful setting with lots to do. There are lots of kids activities including pedal carts, bounce pad, ziplines, feeding the goats, and a play ground. The owners/staff are really helpful and friendly. They'll direct you to which rows are ready to pick, they provide bags and carts for the apple picking, and answer any questions you may have. They've got lots of variety, we left with 3-4 kinds of apples after each visit. All of our apples have been delicious and last so much longer than store bought apples. Bring a tall friend because there are always lots of good apples left up high. There's a little something for everyone in the their shop: canned items like apple butter, cute decor items, ice cream, honey, candy, beef, apple cider, bottled root beer, etc. If the cider is in stock, I highly recommend picking some up during your visit. In mid-October they opened a "pumpkin patch" next to the orchard. This isn't a pumpkins-on-the-vine kind of patch, but a good selection of orange carving pumpkins laid out in a grass field decorated with cute ghost cutouts. All around great place if you're looking to do something fun outdoors near Cape. They do seem popular on the weekends, at least in the fall, so if you're looking for a quieter visit try during the week. There were only a few people in the orchard when we visited on a Tuesday afternoon.
Awesome experience helpful friendly staff. Wonderful day picking apples 🍎 5 star 🌟 I recommend this place even with kids, they have free wagons to use also
What a nice spot for self-pick. We picked peaches; drove right up to the orchard, got great directions about where to pick from owner. Lots of easy to reach fruit, ended up with a couple of pecks of white and yellow peaches and some nectarines! They also have blueberries and blackberries and apples. Will definitely go back. Highly recommended! Just as good for apples!
Knowlan Family Farm is such a great place for some family fun. It is a very clean, organized, and friendly place. The kids and adults all have a great time.
