Moana Nursery - Reno NV

Submitted a request for a plant doctor to advise on health of one of our pine trees. Received a call from Jeni who was able to provide some initial guidelines on watering. She provided her email so I could share additional photos. After reviewing my photos, Jeni took great care and time to send very specific guidelines on proper watering schedule, the correct way to set up a drip system and recommended nutrients and other products that would ensure a healthy tree. We will be sure to stop by the S Reno location and not only pick up some products but hopefully meet Jeni so we can thank her personally.

Moana is wonderful and has fantastic selection of plants! Purple Oxalis / false shamrock! my favorite!

Had such a fun time picking out flowers with my kids! We also enjoyed walking around looking at all the plants, flowers and other items they have available to purchase! We loved seeing the ladybugs flying all around from the ladybug release!

Update: I did send an email as requested on the review response 4/13/26 with no reply back. My husband and I had picked out some outdoor annuals and stopped inside to pick out a Begonia on our way to check out. It was 4:50, an employee came up and told us if we didn’t have our selections paid for by 5:00 they would ask us to leave and come back another day. As a paying customer I found her approach very unprofessional. There are many ways she could have addressed the closing time approaching without being rude, terrible customer service. We decided to leave our items we had in our cart and will go elsewhere.

I’ve spent a couple thousand at Moana nursery over the years. However, I’m done going there any longer, from now on it’s Rail City for me. If you want to make gardening a family affair, don’t go here. Even if your kids are close by and you’re calling to them as you walk to the checkout counter they’ll still get after you. Rail City? I can leave my kids with the fish or chickens for an hour and no one bats an eye. If you’re a childless boomer this is where you belong, if you have kids go to Rail City. Rail City has a better local selection, cheaper prices, and your kids will have a lot more fun.
