Stade’s Farm & Market - McHenry IL

We had a blast! So much to do here! My favorite place to go with family. You can spend the entire day here and not get bored for just $20 per person. Also amazing fresh, warm apple cider donuts! Phone died, could not take more pics, sorry, but trust me, sooooo much to do! You will not regret going!

Had a nice day and farm is well run to monetize whatever they have on offer. My biggest issue was I spent $30 on a box of self harvest veggies and everything in the field was overripe or over picked. I came home to find out zucchini and squash were too overripe to use. Tomatoes look good but hard as a rock. Had to really search for broccoli crowns. Cabbage was rotten. Soybeans were dead. If the season is over, tell your customers, don’t charge them $30 and them let them find out when they get home. The apples were good though and it is September. I should’ve known not to bother with veggies but they really shouldn’t have offered self harvest. Otherwise we had a great time. Cost was $80 (apples and veggies), $43 (lunch), $25 (in the market for jam and bbq rub, plus a few ears of corn). **update, the broccoli was full of caterpillars and inedible. There were just too many to pick out. It was one of the few vegetables we were able to harvest. The zucchini and squash were overripe and unusable.

We visited Stade’s Farm & Market on Monday, October 13th, 2025, enjoying the extra day off. It was so much fun! There is so much to do here! A cool corn maze, plenty of fun tractors to sit on, trampolines, petting zoos, etc. A fresh market of course with Apple cider donuts (family favorite) and we got some pumpkins too. It was my first time but the people I was with have been here several times and showed me around. Not a whole lot to comment on, overall, just good! (Written 10-23-25)

We visited Stade’s Farm & Market on 6/14/26 to pick strawberries, and it was a wonderful experience. Even though it was very busy, they had an excellent harvest with plenty of strawberries available to pick. The strawberries were sweet, large, and absolutely delicious. We will definitely recommend Stade’s for strawberry picking and look forward to coming back to try their other fruits and vegetables!

Strawberry picking was fantastic! We love going to the market with so many varieties of fresh goods. If you've never been you are totally missing out on a real treat. Best apple cider donuts and ice cream!!!
