Sunshine Farm & Gardens - Renick WV

When my partner and I drove to Sunshine Farm and Gardens we didn’t quite know what to expect. We had been brainstorming some new landscaping options at our property and we were adamant that everything planted be native to our region. When we pulled in we were greeted by the very friendly and welcoming, Barry Glick. For the next few hours we were put through a masterclass in all things native to West Virginia and, more importantly, what would work best on our property. By the time we were done Barry had gifted us a wealth of knowledge and tips that, as we drove away, insured us we had chosen wisely to visit his nursery. We can’t thank Barry and his team enough for such a wonderful and informative afternoon. What was first a random “let’s see what this is about” adventure turned into a story that we’ll regale for the rest of our lives!

I can’t think of a person on the PLANET who knows more about our leafy green friends than Barry…and who combines that ridiculous amount of knowledge with loads of fun! He responds in a flash to my many amateur questions and never makes me feel like an idiot for asking. A true gardener and great guy. I buy from him anytime I can and have always been thrilled with what arrived. When you find Barry, you’ve found a treasure!

Barry has an amazing collection of native plants, particularly native spring ephemerals that I wasn't able to find anywhere else (think native versions of crocus, lily of the valley, daffodil). What shipped were bare root corms (~bulbs) in ziplocs bags. It felt like these were not going to work, but they've performed beautifully. All of them have bloomed. Sweet delicate little flowers that grew quickly. I was nervous and Barry has responded several times to my questions after purchase.

Absolutely wonderful!! The plants are beautiful, arrived very quickly and are very healthy. Barry does a great job!!

I made an online order for $250 for Barrys sampler. I requested as many hellebores as i could get. Barry responded personally and promised I would get 10 each of 10 varieties of hellebores that would ship out within 2 weeks. 8 weeks later I received a package containing no hellebores at all. Dont know how Mr. Glick thinks its acceptable to send a package 6 weeks late containing nothing I ordered. His only concession was that I could receive 10 free hellebores on my next order.
