The Butterfly Greenhouse - Frankfort KY

We visited The Butterfly Greenhouse with our family on a warm day in March hoping to see butterflies. One of the staff members kindly told us that the best time to see many beautiful butterflies is around mid-May, so we plan to come back then. Even though we didn’t see many butterflies this time, the visit was still wonderful. The greenhouse is full of beautiful flowers and the landscaping is very well done. It’s such a peaceful and relaxing place to walk around. We also bought a lemon tree, which became a lovely gift for our daughter. Highly recommend visiting. Especially after May if you want to see lots of butterflies!

Very cool place tucked away behind the greenhouses. When we were there the attendant showed us some Monarch caterpillars that they had hatched right there. Definitely going to go back to enjoy the sitting areas as well. The flowers were gorgeous.

This place is SO neat! My very active son had the best time and was so quiet and engaged. We paid for entrance and added a few butterfly feeders on to our admission, which I HIGHLY recommend! The butterflies loved the little feeders they gave us and we were able to watch the butterflies so closely. Be careful where you step as you walk through this magical little house because butterflies are everywhere. What a neat way to learn about butterflies!

I take my granddaughter here several times during the open season and we love it. Releasing butterflies, feeding the butterflies, interacting with them. She knows so much about butterflies and loves to tell everyone everything she knows. Lola's children garden is also a big hit. The atmosphere is so peaceful.

The Butterfly Greenhouse at Wilson’s is delightful, peaceful and a wonderful excursion to enjoy. The Children’s garden is whimsical and beautifully planned and arranged… meandering along the creek with hidden delights everywhere! We bought season passes so we can visit as often as we like!!
