Tonkadale Greenhouse - Minnetonka MN

Tonkadale is hands down one of the best garden centers around. They have an amazing variety of plants, flowers, and gardening supplies, and everything is always clean, organized, and easy to shop. Even when it’s busy, there’s rarely a long line at checkout. The staff is consistently friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. I also love the extra perks like the free water on a hot day, recycling program, and rewards points program. Those little touches really make the experience stand out.

I drove from Minneapolis to check this greenhouse out. I buy plants from everywhere including Etsy. This greenhouse has a small but reasonably priced selection of carnivorous plants. All of the plants look very healthy and the options were good to either choose a small or large plant based on your expense level. The cactus room was very lovely and I saw a few that I might go back for. For now I just picked up a few small Christmas plants. The varieties of poinsettias was endless. I hope to add a few different colors to my collection since I was able to keep mine alive all year. It’s a beautifully laid out store I hope to go back soon and the drive down Minnetonka blvd is easy if you like backroads.

Tonkadale is a must stop for plant lovers in the Twin Cities! I am always so impressed by their selection of plants and planty accessories. They have lots of variety and overall the plants seem pretty healthy. Prices are decent - not the cheapest you can find but definitely a decent price for such a well cared for and curated shopping experience, which I think is very valuable. Staff was attentive - was asked if I needed help while I was there. They also have a rewards program which is nice if you end up being a regular customer. Love this place - a beautiful and enjoyable stop.

LOVE Tonkadale! Meet my newest adding to the plant family "Félicité Lavande" (Happy Lavender aka Laverne) I had the smiling pot, Tonkadale supplied the beautiful plant! Oh, and I also got all my planting pots and dirt to plant all 8 of my spider plant babies that are from ONE spider plant I bought at Tonkadale in December! We also got our buckthorn rejuvenation seen here to replenish the ground and seed with native plants where buckthorn was removed, AND... I'll be back!

Came in the other day to add a few more plants to my collection. I am new to the indoor house plant growing world (about 5 months in) I wanted to challenge myself with some new and different plants since the 3 or 4 I already had are doing very well. My first visit to tonkadale was a great experience and I was overwhelmed with the size and selection they had. I fully anticipated to walk out buying nothing due to the expected cost, but was pleasantly surprised at the varying cost/size options available . The workers are very friendly and knowledgeable and they have a wide range of plants whether you want to spend $10 on a smaller new growth or $100 on an established plant. I will be back!
