Petting zoo with goats, chickens, sheep, peacocks, turkeys, calves and other farm animals available for the kids. Freshly made cider and cider donuts on site. Highly recommend!

I’m a sucker for anything family-oriented, and this place is just that! Apple picking season is such a special event here in New England, and Wellwood Orchards offers not only apple picking but also a petting zoo, a small store that serves fresh-cooked donuts, and hand-pressed cider. In addition to apples, the orchards also offer peaches, and they often have strawberries available as well. They frequently host fun little festivities, so it’s a good idea to check their website every so often, especially during the summer. It really is a special place with plenty of parking, making it very easy to navigate. They even provide tractor rides to and from your car, taking you to the tops of the orchards’ hills. There’s no fee to park, and during busy times, there are staff members available to help you navigate the parking lot. There are also great photo opportunities with cutouts and pumpkins during the fall. Almost every time I’ve been there, they’ve had a food truck or two. My grandchildren have always enjoyed this area!

I absolutely love this place and go several times a year. They are kid friendly and even grandparent friendly compared to most orchards I have been to the ground is very smooth considering!! And don't forget the donuts on the weekends

So lucky to have found this spot-- hidden gem and definitely the highlight of my trip in Vermont. Had camped at Bomoseen, and on the way down decided to do an activity and landed here. Tons of different kinds of fruit to pick, a sweet country store with all kinds of locally made jams, baked goods, and home decor, and a petting zoo! There were lots of baby goats when I went, very sweet and playful. Definitely recommend getting out here if you're in the area-- bring some cash and quarters (for the petting zoo, the store accepts card)!!
