Crabtree Garden Center & Landscaping - Elgin SC

Very disappointed with the service and follow-through from this company. I previously purchased two palm trees from them. One has done great, but unfortunately the other has completely died. I called several times asking for someone from Crabtree to come out and take a look. After multiple attempts, they finally came by and acknowledged the issue, even stating they would replace the tree. Since then, nothing has been done. I have left multiple voicemail messages for the owner and have yet to receive a callback. At this point, the tree is totally dead and I’m still waiting for the company to stand behind their product and follow through on what they promised. Customer service and communication have been extremely disappointing.

I had an amazing experience with them folks. From the moment I walked in and saw their large selection of palm trees and all the other plants they carry, everything was smooth, friendly, and stress-free. The whole process was seamless and I didn’t have to overthink anything. They came out the following week with a full crew and installed two palm trees, and the trees showed up already looking great and healthy. The install was clean and professional, and they left no dirt or mess behind, just two beautiful palms that instantly upgraded the look of my house. Their pricing is exceptional and their service is even better. They even offered free delivery, which was a huge bonus. I’m also looking to landscape my backyard soon, and I’ll definitely be calling them back. Highly recommend!

In September 2024, I visited Crabtree Garden Center & Landscaping for some plants and straw. I was welcomed by a patient, attentive gentleman who truly listened to what I was looking for. He didn’t just point me in a direction, we walked the nursery together, exploring options until we found exactly what I needed. Before leaving, I had the pleasure of meeting Jon, who shared that they also offer hardscaping, tree removal, sprinkler installations, and more. He offered to come and give me an estimate. Given that my landscaping knowledge is minimal, Jon took the time to educate me, make thoughtful recommendations, and explain the “why” behind each choice. If I suggested something unnecessary, he was transparent and steered me away from it, saving me money and unnecessary work. The initial project included installing low-maintenance trees, shrubs, additional plants, pine straw, and a sprinkler system. I was so impressed with the quality of their work that I didn’t hesitate to have Jon and his team continue transforming my property. This next phase included river rocks, tree removal, fresh sod installation, a beautiful dry river bed, and enhancing my front yard with palms, mulch, and a few plants. Today, my yard has never looked better. Honestly, I used to be embarrassed to host daytime cookouts because of all the imperfections, bald patches in the grass, sandy spots, and an overall dull appearance. Now? The compliments are non-stop, and it’s all thanks to Jon and his outstanding crew at Crabtree. If you’re looking for quality work at an affordable price, done by professionals who are committed to making sure everything is done right before they finish the job, I can’t recommend Crabtree Garden Center & Landscaping enough. They’ve not only enhanced my yard, they’ve given me a space I’m proud to share months later with family and friends.

I have been supporting Crabtree Garden Center (Now Plants R Us) since I moved here. I figured I should support my local business. Their plants were never the healthiest, but still I went to them for all my plant needs. Three weeks ago, I purchased four limelight hydrangeas (I thought). I paid someone to put them in the ground since I have a bad shoulder. About a week later my wife was watering them and noticed that one was very different from the others. I went to Crabtree and told them. They took down my information and said they would call back. Days went by and no call. I kept calling and getting the same run around. I finally called and the owner answered and I asked him what was going on and he said it was the first time he had heard anything and that they would come out to replace it as soon as they got some new plants. I waited and waited and called again and was told they had me on the schedule for the following day. Well that day came and went, no show, no call. I finally pulled the plant out myself and took it to them in exchange for the correct plant. I am all done with them. I will give my business to an honest local business instead.

Today is June 13, 2026 My husband and I stopped by Plants R Us To possibly order palm trees about 2 months or so ago Jon, The owner was there and said he could deliver and install for $400 each Of course my husband was excited and said I’ll take 3 He assured us the truck would be in the following Tuesday He said he had a list of people waiting for palms and we needed to come by Tuesday to pick out the ones we wanted We went to Plants R Us on Tuesday to find out the truck never showed up (honestly I don’t think there ever was a truck coming) because he has yet to get that truck We left and he called a couple days later and said he needed us to pay the full amount for the palm trees in order for him to hold them for us We went by and paid him $1200 in cash Luckily, I kept my receipt Today after multiple lies and broken promises and a week of chasing Jon down to get our money back, he finally gave us our cash back Please say as far away from here as you can!!!!!
