Forest Lake Gardens - Columbia SC

We needed pine straw for our backyard so I ultimately chose this place since we were dining near by. I called first to inquire if they had anything. The person who answered the phone said Hello. I was confused, because normally a business would say hello this is “so and so”, how may I help you or something. Nope, all he said was Hello. I asked him if I was calling the Forest Acres Nursery and he replied yes. I then asked if they had pine straw and he said they did. I thanked him and ended the call. After breakfast, my family and I went to the nursery to purchase the pine straw. We entered the nursery and didn’t see anyone. As my eyes searched for someone, I found sitting the back, looking in our direction. He didn’t speak until I spoke to him. Told him what we needed and he assisted us at checkout. I then asked him how do we get it. He said it was around back. He did end up walking with us to the back after grabbing gloves. As he was about to walk the pine straw to our vehicle, my husband pulled up. I thanked him as he loaded it and we said farewells.

“Hello. Could you please let me know if you have the money plant (Plectranthus verticillatus) available in your store? Thank you very much.”

Good selection, if you know what you are looking for. Most items don't have pricing or indicate what the plant is.

Great place without the big box store hassle along with knowledgeable staff to help with your planting needs. Highly recommend!

Stopped in today to pick up some purple viola‘s that were marked $1.25each got to the register and were told they were $1.75each. Seems like a bad business practice to me. I won’t be back.
