Dewberry farm has always been our farm of choice but this year I decided to change things up and try out Frobergs Farm due to cost and travel time. I was nervous because Dewberry is so big but I was happily surprised with Frobergs. The space is small in comparison to dewberry but that actually is a nice thing. You aren’t having to walk long distances to get to the attractions. They are pretty much all right next to each other. There was also a lot of things to do. The sandpit, raceway, berry fun land (a wooden playground with swings and slides), a corn pit, corn maze, pig races, candy cannon were all free. The other attractions (strawberry express, jumping pillows, bee coaster, apple blaster, paintball gallery, flower picking and pumpkin painting) costs tokens (which at the time of this review tokens were $1 per token). You have to pay with cash for the mining and petting zoo. We ended up spending $30 on 30 tokens for three kids and one adult which ended up being too many tokens. Overall I was really happy with our trip and will be going back again.
My boys and I visited Froberg’s Farm in Alvin on a Thursday afternoon, and we had a really nice time! The place is a little on the smaller side, but everything was so nicely decorated for the fall season — pumpkins, hay bales, cute photo setups, and lots of festive touches everywhere. You can tell they put effort into making it feel warm and welcoming. We got there around 5:15 PM, and the park was closing at 6 PM, so we mainly went to take pictures and enjoy the free scenery before they wrapped up for the day. It was peaceful and not crowded at all, which was actually perfect for snapping some fall photos and letting the boys explore a bit. They do have games and activities you can do with tokens, but since we came close to closing time, about half of them were already closed. Honestly, that didn’t bother me since we were mostly there for the atmosphere. The only small thing I’d mention is that I wish they’d cut the grass in the corn maze — it was a little overgrown and made it harder to walk through comfortably. Other than that, everything looked great and was well kept. Overall, it’s a cute little spot to visit with kids, especially during the fall. I can see it being a lot more lively earlier in the day or on weekends when everything’s open. We’ll definitely plan to come back next time a little earlier to try out more of the games and activities! 🍂🎃
It was my first time here as an adult with my daughter's kindergarten class field trip, and I thought it was incredibly adorable and comforting. It's a fun way for the kiddos can get used to the idea of growing your own stuff and having chickens running around like crazy ! Now we didn't pay for the ourselves, so I'm not sure how much it is, and if it's the right experience for the money, but I I do so love the whole vibe out there. Very country and down to gods green earth, the way it's supposed to be. And everyone seemed very welcoming. I definitely want to go back next year!
Went for strawberry picking. We couldn’t find ripe strawberries as we went a little later however there were lots of other stuff to do. There were some other things to do like the tractor ride// face painting// corn box// a play area with swings and slides..// a jumping pillow// sand pit and other things as well. Some of those require tokens (tractor ride 4 tokens per seat// paintball shooting 4 tokens// jumping pillow 3 tokens (15 for $12). They also did a candy cannon while we were there. There were also some food/drinks vendors (lemonade, cotton candy, chicken, shaved ice with fruits, mexican street corn, cheese sandwiches and so on). Overall a fun place to spend the day when the weather allows.
3.5 stars Visited Froberg's on Friday, Jan 6. The strawberries were abundant and very fresh. $5 per person for admission. My 2 year old was free. $2 for a bucket (must use a Froberg's bucket for picking). We bought 2 to share among the 4 of us. We filled both close to the top (close to 6 lbs total). I'm not sure how much it cost per lb since I didn't pay, but i think it was $5/lb. Credit card does incur a 3.99% fee. We also bought some BBQ: brisket sandwich, hotdog with turkey sausage and jalapeno sausage, Arizona green tea, bottled water, and 2 sausages to-go (jalapeno pork & deer sausage and regular sausage). It was a lot of food actually for $48. We also bought some baked goods to-go (especially enjoyed the oatmeal cookie, chocolate cookie, and pecan pie) . Cookies were $1.50 each or $12/dz. The medium pie (about 4 servings) was maybe $6-7. Being a Friday, there was not much to do at all because all the rides, games, and food trucks only run on the weekends. I guess it saved us money at least bc everything cost $3-4 (tokens). We still managed to stay 2 hours (it made our 1 hr drive worth it) because we ate the bbq at the shaded picnic tables while my 2 year old played on the playground. It's a small playground, but it had her favorite things- swings, slides, and a tire tower to climb. She had fun. I may go to Blessington for the pumpkin patch this fall (based off reviews), but fruit picking is pretty fun here.
