Reviews
If you're looking to enjoy fruit picking during the season, this is a must-visit place. The farm is spacious and offers a variety of fruits depending on the season. The owner was friendly and took the time to explain the different types of fruits they grow. She allowed us to explore the entire store. We are definitely planning to go back for cherry picking in June. Additionally, the farm also has a nice store and a restaurant, making it a great place to spend quality time with family and friends.
What sets Mackintosh apart is the full experience they offer. The orchard’s dwarf trees make fruit picking super accessible, especially for kids, and there are handy picking tools and wagons to make hauling produce easy and fun. After you’re finished picking, the friendly staff help weigh and bag your fruit, ensuring an stress-free experience. Plus, the farm is pet-friendly and even has resident dogs and cats roaming the property, which gives it such a wholesome touch. The farm market and café elevate the visit. We indulged in a scrumptious chicken pot pie and an apple panini, both highlight-worthy, along with crispy apple cider donuts that were simply divine. The café also offers rotating menu specials, local cheeses, farm-fresh eggs, jugs of cider, pastries, and seasonal treats, you truly feel immersed in farm-to-table goodness. In short: Mackintosh Fruit Farm delivers seasonal freshness, engaging experiences for all ages (and pets), and a superb farm-market café. It’s a perfect destination for a full day of relaxing, delicious family fun. A heartfelt 5-star recommendation! 🍎
Great place for the family. We have been apple picking several times and got the family pumpkins from the farm two years in a row. Good food too! Excited to return to try the rest of the menu.
We had a great family experience out here, on November 1, picking Fiji apples. I was surprised we were able to pick this late, but the apples were delicious, very sweet. We picked a box and grabbed some cider donuts, of course. This is a perfect one hour excursion from DC!
Adorable farm with everything we were looking for! Fresh cider, donuts, delicious food and coffee! The staff was kind and we will absolutely be visiting again next time we are in the area.
