Unfortunately very disappointing. First off, the $45 admission includes access to the farm, right? No.. we were charged for going to the cidery because there was a live act… I felt like this was very greedy. Even though it was $5, the principle of getting charged TWICE to be on the same farm grounds is absolutely ridiculous, especially when I’m already going to be purchasing food and drinks!! While walking around the grounds looking for apples, all we saw were apples… on the ground. It was difficult to pick any, and we walked for well over an hour trying to fill up our bag, we only got halfway through before calling it quits. As we headed to the cidery, an employee points at my small purse and says “hope you guys aren’t using that to store any additional apples right?..” It was EMBARRASSING to hear this and incredibly on the spot. Our bag wasn’t even full, like at all to make this accusation. Regardless, my purse is only big enough to carry my phone and a wallet! It was really rude and disrespectful, especially when it was said to my hispanic family and a black man who was near me as she also pointed towards him. It was an uncomfortable and unpleasant position to be put in. Next, the food service. Wow. Absolutely awful. I waited an hour for 6 garlic knots! During this hour, I was surrounded by other folks who have been waiting for the same amount of time and have been complaining to no avail. The ordering system is an absolute mess, numbers are thrown out randomly and god knows how long you’ll have to wait. Staff eventually came out saying food was about an hour wait. For a menu offering only two items— pizza and garlic knots, it felt ridiculous. My knots weren’t even hot. Between making the incredibly long line, and waiting for my food, I grew tired and irritated and didn’t even have the energy to finish exploring the grounds as I was immediately put off by this. Getting around felt like a maze anyway, there’s too many parking lots and not enough signs to orient people. Again, left my family feeling very drained, especially as we were traveling with toddlers. We didn’t end up going to the maze or the hayride because of the exhaustion we endured throughout this whole process. Honestly, the place felt more like a desperate money grab than a place for families to enjoy and unwind. I was initially intending to share the location on my socials and provide a positive review. But unfortunately given these circumstances, I have nothing good to say besides the fact that there was a good variety of apple trees (though again, it was difficult to apples off them because of the scarcity). I left over $106 short not including tolls and gas to get to this place, and I cannot say I had a wonderful time. I quite frankly feel heavily disrespected, especially by the aforementioned comment from an employee and would expect an refund as I spent most of my time walking aimlessly searching for the few apples we picked, waiting in line, and waiting for my food. Nearly every corner of the farm is a booth for you to buy and buy. The audacity to charge poland spring water for not $1.50, not $2, but $3 too? Seriously? Please do better. I believe management is not doing their best to prioritize customer experience. The kitchen is a mess and needs to coordinate better. Your employees should not be accusing customers of stealing either, the poor guy who got accused alongside me said that he literally just arrived and hadn’t even see the apple trees yet…that was his first encounter with an employee and it was an accusation… I cannot imagine how he felt too.
Apple & pumpkin picking farm. Nice place for family and friends. Great selections of apples and very big farm to go around. They have some attractions for kids and also a tractor trailer ride around the farm. Price is reasonable compared to other farms. Beautiful Mountain View’s of the surrounding areas. No complaints at all since it’s an outdoor nature experience, only thing is this old white man who checks your bags and belongings to make sure your didn’t take more apples in like your jackets, pockets, strollers, etc. he was rude
I went with my family of 8 on Sunday September 17 and it was one of the best experience I’ve had apple picking! The apples were so sweet and absolute perfection. Perfect for eating everyday and making pies and other fall desserts! The farm staff were welcoming and helpful. They always had a smile on their faces and were so kind. The apple cider donuts were tasty and if you have a chance to try the pumpkin hard cider do it!😍 10/10 recommend to come with family.
I went apple picking with Found Abilities and love it there! From the wonderful staff to the owner! Excellent customer service and a great variety of apples to choose from! Highly recommend coming here!
Pennings Orchard in Warwick stands as a magnificent expanse of nature’s bounty, surpassing even the well-loved orchards of Long Island with its vast array of colossal, plentiful apples. The orchard itself is a sprawling haven, offering a diverse selection of apple varieties, though the season for Gala and Golden Delicious had ended during my visit. Beyond apples, the orchard hosts a charming collection of farm animals and an inviting array of pumpkins. A visit here offers a delightful glimpse into the heart of upstate New York’s agrarian splendor.
