Shlagel Farms - Waldorf MD

I love coming here multiple times a year to help a local farm. They have strawberry picking in the spring, blackberry picking during the summer, and pumpkin picking in the fall. All of their produce looks amazing. We get honey, blackberry cider, and apple butter every time we go. The food in the food shack is pretty good. Today, we had the strawberry milk shakes, but everything is pretty tasty.

Such a lovely local farm for strawberry pricking. Berries are weighed to price. Little store has all kinds of goodies to buy drinks, trinkets, meats, and sauces. They have a food truck with ice cream, shakes and some finger foods. Clean porta potties.

Shlagel Farms is a nice family operated farm. They have several photo staging areas, a hayride to the pumpkin patch, and kid friendly activities for ages 2 and up. Our son loved the corn maze and slide. They also have some great dessert options and a BBQ pulled pork combo. The staff is also very helpful.

Such a lovely farm. I wish it wasn't cloudy out when I went but it was still very pretty. You could pick your own strawberries or they had them ready..they also sold hanging flowers, meat, cheese, jams and cider. It's a fun family activity to do. I picked up a jar of jalapeño bacon jam and some meat sticks and thoroughly enjoyed them especially the sweet heat meat stick. They had cows in the back and even offered tractor rides for the kids.

Great outing, especially for little kids! Pretty sure this place is closer if you live in Northern VA than any of the other pick-your-own pumpkin farms in Virginia. We had a 1, 3 and 4 year old. They all enjoyed the play area, petting zoo, corn box and, most especially, the tractor ride to the pumpkin patch. Good pie at the snack bar, too!
