South Pleasantburg Nursery - Greenville SC

I admit that I'm biased. I miss the old South Pleasantburg Nursery operated by the prior owner, Jim Borenstein. The plant stock was meticulously cared for. The selection of fountains and yard art was pleasantly quirky. And customer service was personable and attentive. The operation under the new owner is decidedly different. Quantity of sales is prioritized over quality of stock, and customer service is a pale reflection of the excellent service once offered by Jim. I recently purchased six 25-gallon 'green giants' and paid to have them installed. The size and health of the plants varied widely, which is relevant given that each cost over $500 with installation. The smallest one is half the size of the largest. Please see the photos, where I've included a 5-foot step ladder for scale. I'm also including a photo taken today of a 'beautyberry' plant that is one of a pair installed by South Pleasantburg Nursery in November of 2025. The plant pictured is clearly dead, while the other has Spring buds. Inconsistency in product quality and installation now appears to be the norm for South Pleasantburg. But as I say, I'm biased. I was fortunate to have had over 20 years of excellent products and service from Jim, as compared to South Pleasantburg's current standard of mediocrity.

This place has wonderful staff that are very helpful and friendly! The prices are going to be more than Walmart or Lowe’s, but I like supporting local business and each plant is healthy and beautiful! They also sell some beautiful pots! If you are a plant lover, I definitely recommend this place! *the plant in the blue and white pot did not come from here. The pic is to show the cute pot.😊

I worked with Josh Borenstein at South Pleasantburg Nursery. He first visited my property and then designed a plan for the beds that surround three sides of my townhome. He selected plants indigenous to the area that were low maintenance. Josh is a true professional in every sense of the word with knowledge and expertise as well as a quiet confidence that instills trust. Dakota and Adonis installed the plants with wonderful attention to detail and asked my concurrence with placement of plants and river rock. They were professional, knowledgeable, courteous, and friendly -- overall delightful! I commend the professionals at South Pleasantburg Nursery to anyone needing quality landscaping!

Wow. Dangerous place for people trying to stay on a budget. So much to choose from! A tad pricey, but not outrageous. I bought a beautiful olive tree for my patio and and some scarlet firecracker ferns (first time I've ever seen these).

Gorgeous plant nursery and very knowledgeable people working here! They have tons of varieties of everything!
