The Arboretum, State Botanical Garden of Kentucky - Lexington KY

Such a beautiful place. We visited at the end of May and it was so lush and green. It's good for walking, cycling, running and even bird watching! Some of the trees are tagged and you car learn about the trees and some history too. Very relaxing overall. Plenty of parking spots available.

Studied at UK over 10 years ago and only got to visit the Arboretum once. It was quite nostalgic to visit last weekend with my husband and a former classmate. It's been well kept. Lovely to see the Alums care for and cherish it. Didn't get to stay long due to the weather that day but happy we could stop by.

I love this place so much! Wonderful place to walk and relax. There is a childrens garden that is a lot of fun. Its $4 to get in but you can come and go as you please all day. My hope is that Lexington dedicates more funds to this park so they can fix a few of the children's garden features that didnt work. The fountain was absolutely pitiful. Which was slightly disappointing. It could be a really fun thing if it actually sprayed a small amount of water. It just misted an amount so small it looked like steam. Even with that we will most definitely be back! My 2.5 year old loved it and it was an easy and safe environment for him to walk/roam freely.

It has a nice two or three mile loop. Lots of friendly doggos on leash. Beautiful plants and flowers.
