Wegmeyer Farms - Hamilton VA

This is the home farm for Wegmeyer Farms who grow the most delicious strawberries in Northern Virginia. During strawberry season - still ongoing as of this review - they offer online reservations for u-pick strawberries in their fields (secondary u-pick location at Oatlands) as well as pre-picked buckets of berries for sale. There is a shop at the home farm offering baked goods, preserves and every other item you can make with strawberries. We purchased a pre-picked bucket as well as a fabulous strawberry pie and strawberry syrup. Please note: access to the farm is partially on unpaved roads which are also narrow in places, including a 1 lane bridge.

I will have a rant about their bakery …. All the products are industrial quality. Nothing is homemade. They might cook things there but buy the products to an industrial. A bunch of additives that will arm your kids if you’re not careful and aware. You should check the list of ingredients on their products. Strawberry ice cream should be : milk, cream, eventually egg yolks, sugar and strawberries. You shouldn’t have 30 ingredients in it. And the marketing on the ice cream says “homemade ice cream”. They really need to work on their bakery products. Specially for the price they sell them. Go pick up your fruits or veggies there but run away from the bakery.

Very disappointing experience. We had a strawberry picking appointment during a thunderstorm with lightning and heavy rain. Because of the lightning, they made everyone leave shortly after arriving, so we barely got any strawberries at all. The few strawberries we did pick were also disappointing — many were small, overripe, or poor quality. I completely understand safety comes first, but the customer service afterward was terrible. I called about getting a refund and was told to send an email. I emailed multiple times and never received a single response back. No follow-up, no refund, nothing. Poor communication and horrible customer service. Definitely would not recommend. Stay away

This is the best pumpkin patch in the area, provided you are up for climbing the big hill! I take my daughter here annually. I love the fairytale pumpkins and gourds. It has not been crowded when we visited, but we usually go on a weekday afternoon. If you have difficulty climbing hills then this may not be the best patch for you. If you want don't want to pick, they have plenty of pre-picked pumpkins and gourds to choose from. Pumpkins are priced by weight. The setting is beautiful! This is a wonderful place to get pictures of your family and they have several fall displays of pumpkins.

We had a beautiful weekend. Must visit!
