Reviews
We absolutely love Weston Nurseries. Their fruit bushes, perennial plants, and veggie seedlings bring so much joy to our yard every single year. Everything we’ve purchased has been healthy and thriving, and it’s become one of our favorite seasonal traditions to stop by and see what’s new for the garden. The staff is always helpful and knowledgeable, and the selection is fantastic. If you’re looking to build a beautiful and productive garden, Weston Nurseries is such a gem in the community.
I bought a crabapple tree 4 years ago from them. It still has the tag on it saying it is a prairie fire, but when you Google pictures of it, that's not exactly what it looks like. The scientific name is not on the tag. It blossoms in blossoms in early May. It has red and green leaves. But when I bought it, there were branches growing directly out of the soil around the trunk of the tree. I didn't know what they were, so I left it. Now I have a larger tree with about 5 or 6 trunks surrounding and overgrowing the tree I originally bought. I went to cut down the trunks of the larger tree, but upon close inspection, it looks so similar that it might be another species of crabapple tree that might blossom at a later time. I don't know. It has never blossomed. It has no buds on it yet, and here we are in mid-May on a 4 year old tree. The combination of the two trees, the one in the center with dark red flowers, and the tree with bright green leaves engulfing it in my front yard is ugly, and I wish I never got myself into this problem. I live on a main road, and my intention was to beautify my neighborhood with a beautiful flowering tree. I paid $150 for the tree 4 years ago. I am left with no information and a feeling like a mistake was made at the nursery. I did call and speak with a manager a couple years ago. He was nice enough, but cannot solve my problem. I'm stuck with this issue forever until I see the house or the trees die, or I cut one down.
This is a revised review. Yesterday I paid full price for this plant, and when I brought it home, I discovered that it was full blown infested with mealy bugs. Their solution? Come back and buy some neem oil. So let’s review. They sold me a plant (at retail price) that is infested with a highly contagious pest, and with zero apology, they want me to go back and pay them *even more money* to solve the mealy bug problem they gifted me. I won’t be going back.
Although it is early, there was a great selection of trees, shrubs, perennials and herbs. As always, the staff was very helpful!
I got a small tree with blue lights for my home; two beautiful plants for two of my closest friends, and a beautiful plant and holiday truck for my most important friend and her nephew, I highly recommend the nurseries, especially since Cataldo’s closed shop last year.
