A great place to pick Strawberries in the Bristow area. Yankee Farms in Bristow offers a delightful strawberry picking experience that embodies the essence of wholesome, family-friendly farm outings. Nestled amidst picturesque grass fields, the strawberry fields at Yankee Farms invite visitors to immerse themselves in the joy of harvesting ripe, juicy strawberries straight from the vine. Parking is on the grass in a fenced field off the road and right in front of the strawberry field. The experience began with a warm welcome from friendly staff sitting at table under a tent right off the parking area. They provide baskets and guidance on where and how to pick the best berries. The rows of strawberries are well maintained, ensuring easy access and a bountiful harvest. There were about 20 rows and the best picking is in the back due to many people picking the closest area. You are walking between the rows of dirt and bending over to search for the best picks. I think families with children will especially appreciate the opportunity to educate youngsters about where food comes from and they will have fun tilling the baskets with berries. Overall, Yankee Farms in Bristow provides a memorable strawberry-picking experience that combines freshness, fun, and the simple pleasures of outdoor adventure. It’s an ideal destination for anyone seeking a taste of rural charm and a hands-on agricultural experience.

We enjoyed our time on this farm. They’ve upgraded a lot since we came for pumpkins last year. There is a nice u-pick pumpkin patch or the option to choose from a selection at the front. Pay a fee for a play area with unlimited wagon rides, a cow train, and some stuff for kids to play on. Great family fun, we will be back.

We have been here many years ago to strawberry pick but came back to participate in fall festivities. We loved the tractor ride and enjoyed the young man who helped ride us around. We love meeting the animals and the corn maze was fun. We will be back

We always prefer picking our pumpkins from small farms, and Iike to save things like wagon rides and corn mazes for another day. Yankey Farms has an paid area ($8pp) that features rides, a cow train, some animals, a very small slide, some ride-on toys, etc., but we didn't do any of those things. For one, the fall activities seemed geared towards those 4 and under. Maybe even 3 and under. I'm not saying my 5yos wouldn't have enjoyed playing in there, but for the price, there are other festivals with bigger slides and more activities that my bigger kids prefer. Plus, we were here to just pick pumpkins, which I liked that we could do without reservations and without paying any extra fees. The pumpkin patch is small but big enough to where it doesn't feel crowded. A good number of pumpkins have already been cut off their vines and placed in more accessible areas, but you can clearly see pumpkins growing and theoretically clip your own if you really wanted to. There's also a pretty good variety of pumpkins - some of the heirloom type (which I'm not certain is grown on the farm), mini pumpkins, gourds, and of course your typical orange pumpkin patch pumpkin. Pumpkins are paid for by pound. I was expecting our pumpkins to cost us a billion dollars because two of them were really heavy, but we ended up getting 4 very pumpkins for about $30, and everyone was happy because each pumpkin was different. There's a limited number of wagons, so if you see a family unloading their cart in the parking lot, ask them for theirs. Port-a-potties are on site as is a food truck serving hot dogs and apple cider, at least on weekends. Both cash and card are accepted. Really great staff. Overall, recommended for those looking for a pumpkin patch local farm experience over a full-blown fall festival type environment. We loved the simplicity if it, as well as its close proximity to the DC/NoVa area.

We went for a fun day at a Pumpkin patch and that's exactly what we got! They had some farm animals you could pet or feed, some toy tractors my 2 year old son loved to ride, a small mountain of hay to climb on with a tunnel running through it for little ones to play in and a tractor train that I was able to ride with my son as well as a hayride around the farm. There was a large pumpkin patch full of orange, white and green pumpkins of all shapes and sizes. I was even able to buy some local honey with almonds on top in a little mason jar that is super tasty. Very quaint farm, great time for someone like me with a young child. I was hoping for maybe some refreshments, like cider or hot chocolate or something like that but didn't find anything there. Maybe I just wasn't aware of it, but that would have been cool to add. Also I did not see a restroom but someone told me there was a port -a -potty Overall, for only a $6 entry fee too, it was a good time!
