Strawberry picking is our favorite time time to come out to Braehead (but it’s not the only time we come here). They provide the buskets for 1.00 and you can pick as much or as little as you like. It’s great for families to enjoy a day out and collect fresh fruits and vegetables. There is no shade in the fields so if you come on a sunny day, make sure you have a hat and wear sunscreen. I also recommend wearing boots or shoes you don’t mind getting dirty. Lastly…respect the rows, don’t eat directly off the plants, and only pick ripe fruit. You’ll have a great time.
Strawberries!! We had so much fun going to Braehead this weekend to pick our own Strawberries. Two baskets at $6.99 a pound. They will last longer than store bought produce. Then we got some pickles and jelly from the market. They had some Apple Butter, with no sugar added! Before we left, we had a cone of ice-cream, each under $5. It was delicious! They source their dairy products from south Maryland. Over all it was an amazing time outdoors with my family.
Hidden gem! We found this place on a whim. Lots of stuff to do for all ages to be honest. Lots of play area for kids, tire swings, swings, hammock swing, balance beams, volley ball net, cornhole, tether ball, farm animals (cows, chickens, donkeys, horses, pigs, bunnies, alpacas, sheep etc) also they have fruit and veggie picking. Everything is reasonable price wise! Plus who wouldn’t want to support a small local business! We will be returning to this cute little farm!!
Went to meet Santa and it was a wonderful experience, first time visiting and the kids age range of 1-18yo, they played non stop and wore themselves out! A win win! Plenty of space to run around and see farm animals! They had outdoor games and play areas suitable for all ages. It’s a farm so if it had rained it will be semi muddy but that adds to the fun! The Santa experience was great as well and very memorable. Would love to come back just to come back and also take advantage of shopping at their market!
My family and I were on a road trip back from North Carolina to Annapolis, Maryland and needed a place for our little boy to run around. I discovered Braehead Farm and it seemed like the perfect stop! As soon as we got out of the car, he was enamored with the animals, and when we walked through to the back with the playgrounds, pumpkin patch, dirt pit with trucks and even more animals, he was on cloud 9. We spent over an hour there exploring, enjoyed the pick your own tomatoes and flowers, took pictures by the pumpkins and bought farm fresh eggs and cider to bring home! I was so distracted with taking pictures of my infant son by the pumpkins that I completely forgot my baby carrier there. I emailed the farm that night and they responded quickly, mailed it to me, and wouldn’t accept my offer to cover shipping. It’s so rare to find kind people nowadays and I was touched by how genuinely nice everyone was not only while we were there but in the aftermath of my forgetfulness. Don’t miss this beautiful farm!
