Very friendly folks! Come early to do your strawberry picking because it is quite popular. $8/lb. The farm is maybe 5-8mins stroll from the starting point which is a like a cafe where you can chill, hang and buy jam, cheesecake and coffee. If you prefer not to pick, you can also buy directly at the cafe. Lots of fresh strawberries available. Family friendly place with a resident dog that is super cute and friendly.
It’s definitely a bit of a trek to get here from San Francisco, but totally worth it! I was in Pescadero for some Halloween festivities and made sure Swanton Berry Farm was one of our stops. I was shocked (in the best way) to see they were still offering U-pick strawberries this late in the season! We didn’t have enough time to pick our own, but I couldn’t resist grabbing a basket from their farm stand and wow. These strawberries always taste like pure sunshine. Sadly, they were out of pumpkin pie so I went for the strawberry shortcake instead. Pro tip: if you’re smart, you’ll grab one of each dessert and share. After a weird exchange with the guy behind the counter who asked me if I sew? …. He mentioned my clothes look like something his grandma made from patterns back in the day, I completed my transaction and joined my group at the large picnic tables to enjoy my treats. Charming, delicious, and always worth the drive… Swanton never disappoints!
We stopped here on a road trip with zero expectations and were blown away. Even though it’s not strawberry season, their desserts were amazing. We tried the cheesecake with a drip coffee and it was literally the best cheesecake we’ve ever had. Totally worth the stop, we’ll be coming back every time we pass by!
Stopped here on our way to Santa Cruz traveling from our home in Oregon. Never heard of it before but we saw a bunch of cars and signs that they had strawberries. We are so glad that we stopped. We've always loved the strawberries that we get from our local grower just outside of Aurora, OR and thought they were the best we've ever had...until now. Literally the tastiest strawberries I've had in my 58 years! Great customer service, super nice staff and I'm looking forward to stopping again when we head back home. This time I'll try their strawberry shortcake that looked incredible!
Super sweet place for fun in the sun and yummy organic strawberries. You can pay a fee for all you can pick or go inside and buy baskets or flats of organic strawberries. This place is famous for their strawberry shortcake, marionberry shortcake, strawberry cheesecake, chocolate covered strawberries, and berry chocolate truffles. Did I mention they always have a big pot of vegan, gluten-free stew? Oh yes, and warm strawberry apple cider, plus so much more! There's an adorable antique theme with lots of kid friendly activities.
