Butler's Orchard - Germantown MD

We visited this farm for strawberry picking and had a very disappointing experience. Most of the field appeared poorly maintained, with large areas covered by weeds and very few quality strawberries available for picking. Many of the berries we found were either extremely small, overripe, or already rotting on the plants. After spending time searching, it became clear that there simply were not enough good strawberries left in the field to justify the admission fee. What made the experience even worse was the staff's attitude. When we raised concerns about the condition of the fields, the response was essentially indifference. No one seemed interested in helping or addressing the issue. We understand that weather and growing conditions can affect a harvest, but customers should be informed when picking conditions are poor rather than being charged full price for fields that are largely picked over and poorly maintained. This felt less like a pick-your-own farm experience and more like paying to search through weeds for a handful of usable strawberries.

We drove up here on a relatively hot day. We anticipated taking our daughter up here to pick fruit, see animals, and eat apply pie perhaps. But unfortunately none of it happened. You must drive your car to pick all the fruit, you have to come early to get your favorite pie, and the area lacked arrows and assistance to help people get around. Overall, the staff was very friendly, the area was spacious and clean. The market was easy to get around. Prices were OK. The eating area was cozy. I'm not sure if I will be back. Next time we'll probably come a better time.

Love coming here with friends and family! The employees are so nice, the fruit and veggies are fresh and delicious. You get to see the farm animals, the fun activities and pumpkin picking! Also yummy apple cider drinks and donut, a lot to experience

I’m so happy we booked tickets for the last day of the fall festival. Online booking was easy and they just scan your phone at the gate. Only thing is I wished they had separate lines for prepaid tickets to make it move faster. Plenty of parking. Perfect family outing! Loved the goat feeding options but by the time we got there the goats were nice and full but still adorable. Lots of cool photo opportunities. The hay ride was cool. Very efficient with the multiple tractors. The food was decent but the donuts babyyy! Apple cider donuts were soft and fluffy (fresh). The candy apples were sold out. Definitely a place you want to take your family next season.

This is a nice spot! the food selection was surprisingly good and the corn maze was harder than expected. Most of the attractions are geared towards children. Parking was easy and the orchard itself was pay by bag. The apples were great for baking but didn’t taste very good just to eat.
